Color Trends for Summer 2007
Summer 2007
So it seems that summer is just around the corner again and that means many things to many people: beach vacations, bikinis, surfing, hiking trips, outdoor festivals, and generally more outdoor activity than winter usually allows. Summer is also the season for more vibrant colors in fashion and design.
Inspired by the more “haute couture” offerings from Pantone® and their contemporaries (and also for my desire to be a trend setter), I decided to present my own predictions for seasonal color trends. Even though I am a little late to the starting line for the summer season, I plan to offer four different sets of colors for each season that can be used for just about anything deemed worthy of a color refresh: web sites, magazines, posters, corporate branding, or anything else you can think of. Feel free to use these colors as you wish. No weird licensing issues to deal with and no credit to the author is necessary. Use them, love them, hate them. It’s your choice. If you are feeling really nice, maybe you can send me an email to let me know what you used, where you used it, and maybe send along an example for me to check out.
Enjoy and check back for my upcoming Fall color trends.
Summer Breezy
This set of colors was inspired by some of the muted, softer colors of an afternoon at the beach here on the Outer Banks of NC. This palette would work well for beach photographer’s portfolio web site or a beach real estate brochure.
Summer Twilight
This set of colors was inspired by the subdued but vibrant colors of twilight at the beach here on the Outer Banks of NC. I can picture this palette working well on a surf shop web site or advertisement.
Caratoke Garden
This set of colors was inspired by the vineyards and farmlands in Currituck County, NC, which is due west on the mainland just across the Wright Memorial bridge. This color palette would look great as a landscaping company’s corporate colors or as the color scheme for a golf course brochure.
Salvo Sunset
*Personal Favorite! This set of colors was inspired by a beautiful sunset over the Pamlico Sound in Salvo, NC. These colors would work well for any extreme sports team colors or an “edgy” surfboard/skateboard/kiteboard company.
