Pump House Irrigation

Branding Consultation and Logo Design

Pump House Irrigation, an irrigation and landscaping contractor located on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, needed an indelible image.

We were contacted by Pump House Irrigation owner, Travis Ladd, to design a logo that represented his business. Something clean and easy to remember with an irrigation theme.

After several draft design ideas, the final design was chosen because it seemed to have all the required design elements; strong typography and a logo that denotes irrigation. The logo letterforms were hand-drawn in bold strokes to give a sense of depth and solidity. The water drop icon gives a feeling of fresh, clean water and is also rendered to give the logo some depth.

The overall concensus was that the logo represents the company in strong but subtle tones and is a great beginning to establish their brand.

Savvy & Sublime Design, Inc.

Branding Consultation and Logo Design

Savvy & Sublime Design, Inc. was looking to enliven their brand. The original name for the company was Sublime Design. The company owner, Keely Owens, decided that she wanted represent her two-sided approach to interior design by calling the company Savvy & Sublime Design, Inc. The next move was to create a logo that represented this juxtaposition of design disciplines.

The new logo needed to speak in subtle tones about what the company does; great interior design. Several ideas were drafted that started things going in the right direction. After weeks of bouncing ideas and revising certain design elements, Outer Banks Design Works was able to distill the concept of savvy and sublime interior design down to one design element; a table lamp.

The table lamp logo element is hand-drawn in a style that matches the Papyrus® typeface that was chosen for the text. The lamp is split into two distinct sections, each with a different color, to help illustrate the concept of savvy and sublime. The overall mood of the design is that of neo-classical with a touch of whimsical fun.
