Pump House Irrigation

Initial Web Presence

Pump House Irrigation is a premier provider of irrigation systems and custom landscaping design for the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

The company’s owner, Travis Ladd, approached Outer Banks Design Works with the project in July of 2006 and asked if we could help them establish their Web presence. After several meetings we decided that Pump House Irrigation needed a simple brochure-style website with an online photo gallery to showcase some of their projects.

By the beginning of September 2006 we had completed the website and photo gallery. Before the end of the month, Pump House Irrigation was ranking in the top 10 on Yahoo!® and were extremely pleased with the performance and the design of their website.

Soul's Harbour Church of God

Website Redesign

Souls Harbor Church of God is located in Manassas, Virginia and contacted Outer Banks Design Works to help bring their website up-to-date.

The original Souls Harbor website was designed back in 1997 by Outer Banks Design Works owner, William Dodson. The website needed an update to help attract new visitors.

The original design utilized a custom-developed content management system (CMS) written in ColdFusion using Fusebox 3. The new design was placed into an updated version of the same ColdFusion CMS system they had been using. The actual design portion of the site uses a dark color scheme with vivid highlights and navigational elements. The new design was completed in late 2005.

Sign Graphx

Website Redesign

Sign Graphx is a full-service sign and printing company located in Manassas, Virginia.

The Sign Graphx website was outdated and had not been revised since 1998. The site needed to help draw attention to the services that Sign Graphx provides as well as to highlight some of their clientèle.

Outer Banks Design Works was given free reign to come up with a website that showcases what the company does and who the company works with. Some of the key points of the site are a large logo with vivid colors and a matching color scheme. One request was that the website not use any dropdown menus for displaying sub-navigation. The main navigation displays only the top-level areas of the site. Selecting one of the top-level navigation links brings the user to the index for that section and presents links to navigate to the sub-sections.

The finished design incorporates clean, glossy lines with plenty of whitespace, a vivid color scheme and strong visual navigation cues.

Laidback

Initial Web Presence

Laidback is a band who has all the right hooks: funky vibes, tight musicianship, and solid songwriting.

Bradley Hodson, bass player for the band, wanted a fun and lively website. After several initial meetings and brainstorming sessions we decided that the band needed some sort of content management system (CMS). This would allow them to update the site with show dates and band news as needed.

This version of the site uses a custom-developed ColdFusion CMS written on top of Fusebox 4. The design was a bit rushed in implementation, but helped to highlight the band and some of their music. The site features a news section, band bios, and a popup Flash radio player that plays full versions of songs from the band’s first album. The site was completed in late 2002.

*Note: A new version of the Laidback website is in the works and slated for release in early 2007

G-13

Website Redesign

G-13 is a band that combines many elements of modern music with a refreshing, original style all their own.

The band manager, Brad Taishoff, wanted something that would help to highlight what the band was best at; playing live music. After the initial meetings and brainstorming sessions we decided to create a subtle design using soft greens and bright orange to add contrast to the hand-drawn logo. The design also showcases the band itinerary and some of the band’s live music.

The site uses a custom-developed content management system written in PHP on top of Fusebox 4.
